Traveling to Turks and Caicos Islands
How do you get here? Quick & Easy Access through Major Airlines
Traveling to Turks and Caicos, a mesmerizing archipelago of islands known to only a select few travelers lies just beyond the Bahamas, and Caicos Adventures (Lady K Luxury Charters) is just savvy and bold enough to bring you this incredible scuba diving experience. To the locals, these islands are fondly referred to as “Provo,” but we call it Paradise! And once you see, feel and taste its pleasures, so will you. “Provo,” or Providenciales, is the biggest island of Turks and Caicos and it is our area of focus and affection. Located 575 nautical miles to Miami’s southeast, and 39 miles southeast of the Bahamas, Providenciales is on the map of major airline jet flights to one of the Caribbean’s most impressive runways for length! Just an hour and 20 minutes from Miami and less than 3 hours from New York City, this adventure is an easy get-to although once you get there, you’ll feel worlds away from your responsibilities!
Why Visit Providenciales? Beauty Above, Beauty Below!
Where else can you say something was beautiful above and beneath? Traveling to Turks and Caicos’ eight islands over 40 cays are filled with turquoise waters so clear there is no end to what you can see there. With breathtaking sugary white beaches and stunning coral reefs, the place is just magical. Think every sunset is beautiful? Try a Turks and Caicos sunset one of these days and the image will burn into your memory for a lifetime. These unspoiled natural preserves are speckled with modern development done in tasteful fashion, taking nature into consideration at every turn. Development on Provo is tasteful and modern, with consideration to its natural surroundings. Unlike popular tourist sites littered with solicitations, “hair braiding offers” and other commercial clutter, this spectacular environment is virtually unspoiled – not a high rise casino in sight! The Turks and Caicos Islands feature a relaxed pace that visitors find extremely influential, and the kind of peace of mind that yoga studios only hint at in the USA. Providenciales is the Caribbean as it was meant to be, and the Lady K is anxious to take you there so that you, too, can know this first hand.
“Why Visit Providenciales?” For Your Favorite Sporting Activity!
Scuba diving in the Turks and Caicos islands is not like scuba diving anywhere else in the world. In addition to world-class scuba diving and snorkeling, Provo offers windsurfing, fishing and sailing, among other sports that occur in or on the water. Providenciales shines on land as well: “Caribbean Travel & Life” ranks its 18-hole championship golf course among the top 10 best Caribbean golf courses! In addition, “Sports Fishing” magazine rates Turks and Caicos Islands among the top 20 hot spots in the world for bill fishing.
“Why Visit Providenciales?” White Sand & Turquoise Waters!
When choosing a vacation, people like top 10s, so we’ll continue with that to say that Providenciales’s Grace Bay is rated by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the world’s top 10 beaches. This sandy white beach stretches for 12 miles and guarantees one of the most beautiful strolls y ou’ve ever taken alongside water that matches a turquoise stone. Grace Bay’s astonishing beauty is unmatched! This photographer’s paradise is captivating, with unspoiled beaches on which beach goers can claim hundreds of feet to themselves to sunbathe privately. Popular resorts exist, but a 40-foot privacy radius is likely. When snorkeling, frolic with JoJo the dolphin who after years of living in the wild without his own family pod, decided to adopt Grace Bay vacationers as family.
“Why Visit Providenciales?” Sunny, Comfortable, Consistent!
The Turks and Caicos archipelago is comprised of Providenciales and its sister islands, so pretty much as its own micro sun belt. What baffles its neighbors about the Turks and Caicos is the beautiful weather. Unlike the Dominican Republic to the south that has all of the humidity tropical air is known for, or the true Bahamas to the north that drips with humidity, Turks and Caicos has a perfectly arid temperature. As natural proof, the indigenous Turks Head Cactus plant couldn’t thrive without the environment’s average 40% humidity and daily temperatures in the mid-80’s, heat-diminishing light trade winds, and days upon days of sun without rain each month (are you opposed to a half hour shower? We knew you’d say “no”!) So if visitors want to ask whether Turks and Caicos has a rainy season, they will be answered by a smile, and silence, because it’s nothing worth talking about. Gone are the days of having your expensive vacation parade rained on! Your suntan is secure in Turks and Caicos.
World Class Accommodations! Modern, Clean, Unlike Other Islands.
Although the island is unspoiled and pristine, as more and more have discovered Provo and subsequently returned, real estate development has been inevitable. Learning from mistakes of others islands and other over-developed vacation icons of yesterday, the government and locals have adopted strict zoning and development requirements. So while Providenciales is exploding with new beachfront resorts – they are being built without spoiling Turks and Caicos Island’ beauty – no high rise structures, maximum spacing between properties, minimum set backs from beaches and abundant landscaping. In lieu of these resorts starting to dot the beachfront, the beach at Grace Bay is, and always will be, pristine because of the government’s foresight. Most accommodations, having been built in the last 10 years, are very modern and filled with all the amenities. Your preference dictates what caliber accommodations you wish to stay at, as Provo provides a complete spectrum of choices: all inclusive, bed and breakfasts, inns, hotels, resorts, five star hotels and villas. 50 World Class Restaurants, All Within a 3-mile Radius!
It’s not that everything revolves around food; because we need food to live why not make the best of what we eat, every day? Coupled with world-class resorts are the restaurants. Would it sound hyperbolic to say that every restaurant in Turks & Caicos is the best and that only food type can guide your choice? The only negative we have to report is that there are no chain shops like MacDonald’s, but somehow we think you’ll see that as a plus.
